Playa Brasilito and Playa Conchal
We haven’t really got a firm plan for our travels in Costa Rica, and I would say that we are definitely ‘winging-it’ on this leg. This is definitely one of the struggles of family travelling, trying to juggle everyone’s needs and having enough time to look at where you are going next. So our google search in the car on leaving Rincon described a beautiful white-sandy beach, Playa Conchal, voted the most beautiful beach in the world…ok, we point the car in that direction!
After a few hours in the car (what an absolute luxury), we arrive at a little camping spot right on the beach in Playa Brasilia, a 10 minute walk from Playa Concha (the poor man’s beach!!). It’s a lovely little locals beach spot, with signs up warning you not to swim in one area due to the crocodiles, so we move up a few metres, and plonk our tent there!
After settling ourselves in, we have a wander and find a top-notch restaurant right on the beach where we order 4 glasses of tap water, and 1 smoothie(!!), and we make full use of the WiFi and swimming pool before heading back to our camp spot for our homemade tomato pasta for the umpteenth night in a row!!
Off to bed we go in our boil-in-a-bag accomodation ๐. Boy-oh-boy what a struggle that nights sleep was despite being in full starfish pose! We all had a full-sweat-on, and so resorted to sleeping with damp towels on us ๐. But was it worth it…. YES.
The next morning we woke early and walked 10 minutes to an adjacent beach and weirdly, despite being just around the next bay, it was a completely different colour, with light coloured fine shells making up the sandy appearance ❤️. The water was as clear as clear with rocks underwater, making this an ideal spot for snorkelling from the beach. Thankfully, we came prepared with our snorkels and masks, and after a short swim out, we were able to see the most amazingly colourful fish, sea snakes, starfish and eels as well as a beautiful green sea turtle that we were able to gracefully swim with for about 5 minutes. Now I call that a pretty good start to a day!
