Final preparations just taking place for our big trip. The house is looking, er like our usual house! Lots of work for us tomorrow, and the next day and probably even the morning of the 2nd January. Oh geez we really do have so much stuff 😖. I’m sure an awful lot of stuff we are packing up will go straight in the bin on our return 😂. So how are we feeling: sad to be saying goodbye for now to everyone that we love to be with ❤️, and also excited / apprehensive about what is to come. We don’t quite know what to expect or even where we are going, but we are very much looking forward to the adventure that lays ahead….  What an absolute miracle that this technophobe has worked out how to set this up 😂

Puerto Angel

Our next stop is just a few miles down the coast to a gorgeous little fishing village called Puerto Angel. We arrive at our accommodation to be welcomed by the owners with open arms into their little home. The house looks like a little ramshackle of a place, but like a lot of homes in Mexico, as soon as you go through the ramshackle, what lies behind is a gorgeous home. Much to my delight they have a washing machine, and much to the boys delight, the owner is a hairdresser! When my head is turned, Seb manages to grab himself a ‘skin-fade’😳. Good job we are in Mexico and it will grow soon!! Not only do the owners welcome us with open arms, they look after us. They are instantly so kind, clearly recognising we need some TLC after the not-so-nice campsite! They lend us their snorkels, masks and boogie-board, and take us on a little tour of the village including a little trot to one of the local beaches. OMG it’s beautiful. The worlds fattest tree, Hierve El Agua and Sierra Norte

We’ve had a few days behind the wheel and it’s been a great bit of freedom for us away from the cities and amongst nature. When I say we have been behind the wheel, it’s definitely the royal we as there is absolutely no way I would drive over here. It’s like SuperMario land and apparently no-one has to sit a driving test before they hit the roads. Johnny the ‘exspurt’ driver, did a marvellous job of course. It’s been a varied few days…we visited the fattest tree in the world, camped near some beautiful petrified waterfalls (Hierve el Agua) and climbed to 3200 metres to stay in pine forested mountains. Our first stop, Hierve el Agua, was a beautiful place amongst Agave filled mountains (used for the local Mezcal drink, amongst other things). We decided to camp as the view was spectacular, and we managed to find a Sprocket replacement, for now!
